The river Ganga is joined by several tributaries as it moves down the mountains and towards the plains. The water stream of the main river and these tributaries is narrow and fast, with glacier melt and the topography driving the fast movement of the water, and creating rapids of different difficulty level. As a result, rafting in the river is an adventure sports that drives a large number of people. People reach the North Indian city of Rishikesh (which is known as a holy city) but also serves as the launchpad for those who want to do rafting.
In this image, there are people on a relatively quieter section of the river on their rafts. If you want to get a print of this image, but from my Saatchi Art store (or buy others from my collection) (link).
